On the lighter side: typography inspires VH1 spoof in a Flash animation, Behind the Typeface: Cooper Black.

What a delight by Cheshire Dave Beckerman! In the Spinal Tap league.
Cheshire Dave has another delightful typographic drama “Etched in Stone” at

The movie requires substantial bandwidth and a strong interest in typography.
Consider seeking out Gary Hustwit’s documentary, Helvetica, at film festivals this year, the 50th birthday of Helvetica. For a taste, he has some short clips available.
At the very least, go to the clips section for the above mentioned movie and watch the Wim Crouwel clip. His statements near the end about how the typeface shouldn’t interfere with your message fits very well within the discussion that take place here.
“The meaning is in the content of the text, not in the typeface” – Wim Crouwel
